Perfume
One of my pet peeves is people who smell bad. I never use to be this obsessed with perfume, but the older I got the more important I felt to smell good. I think one of the best compliments you can get is 'you smell good'. I don't think this is a good picture really, but I am lazy. Haha.
I have 13 all together. Three of which are by Mark. I really enjoy there fragrances. One of my favorite from them is called Coasta Rica. Smells like watermelon and rain. I also like their Pure fragrance. I think this smell like soap and vanilla. A couple other I have that I love are from various different brands.
Mally just released a perfume. I actually won a full size bottle of it from a blog I follow. I was thrilled. I had never won anything in my life! When I received it I was blown away at how good it smells. I probably reach for this 2-3 times a week. I don't really know how to explain the smell. Its so pretty smelling. I think it for 60.00 on QVC. I can't say that I would pay 60.00 but only because I think that's a lot of ANY perfume. I would be tempted though.
Then the perfume that started the whole obsession is Very Irresistible by Givenchy. Oh my God! This is heaven sent. I got a sample of this from a swap on makeupalley. I fell in love with it. I bought it from discountfragerances.com. They offer awesome prices and a lot of the time there is a coupon.
The rest are Victoria Secret, GAP, BBW and Brittany Spears. Which I need to put the Brittany Spears on makeupally for swap. I think its Curious. It smell horrid! Ewk! I did just buy another perfume from my avon/mark rep. It's the new perfume from Mark. Very spring-ish. Can't wait to get it. I will have a review for you though.

Insomnia
If any of you follow me on twitter (@dorkynerd) then you know I have had a problem with insomnia. I am at the breaking point with it. It all started when I my cat passed away in June. It really messed me all up. I can't say I'm completely over it, but I think I have come to accept it now. But for almost 3 months it was everything I could do to go lay down. For it was this time, Snuggles and I spent the most time. Every night for years he slept on my pillow. So this was the original reason, I believe I fell into this vicious cycle. Now I think its more of a habit. I have tried sleeping pills. They worked the first couple nights..but I felt like crap the day after. Plus, it just doesn't seem healthy. I don't want to take pills if I don't have to.
My new approach is the following. Last night I didn't take any pills. I went to bed around 1:30am. I read some RSS's in bed until 2:00am. Then I failed to sleep. I tossed and turned for 2 and a half straight hours. I was just dozing off when hubby's got up for work at 4:30am. I woke up around 8am. I think it was a little earlier then that. So I've had a little less then 5 hours of sleep. This is what set the plan into gear. Next step. NO NAPS. Even in my teen years, I have been very fond of naps. Well, this is like adding more fuel to the flame. This last step is kinda embarrassing. I am so dependent on my blackberry. Seriously, I always have in on me. Usually in my hand. So, I have banned the charger from the bedroom. I will be now keeping it in the kitchen. It is just another distraction. Its the last thing I need. I tend to pick it up after a while of tossing and turning.
So I am hoping this will work. Hubby is getting frustrated with my sleepless nights. I don't blame him either. I get frustrated with it too. If this approach doesn't work, I guess its time to visit the doctor. I just want to be normal again.

Fun at walmart, QVC and taxes
This is one of my nieces. Alexis. We took this picture at Wal-Mart. Uncle Matt put her in the bin of bean bags. I had to snap a picture! This girl has me wrapped around her finger! She makes me want to start having kids NOW! Though hubby isn’t on board with that right now. So I enjoy every minute with her. I can’t wait til she gets a little older. Shopping, makeup, and girl talk. I called to talk to my brother, and she found out I was on the phone. She HAD to talk to me. She made me smile so big! I have like 9 or 10 nephew and nieces so I try not to play favorites, but she makes it so hard!
On another note, Bare Escentuals is on QVC today! The today special value is a great look collection. I am trying to resist. But..you know! I do need more foundation and its in the kit. I guess time will tell. Any of you watching? Even if you don’t plan to buy anything, Lesile and Lisa are too funny!
Oh! Taxes are done! I filed both mine and the hubby! Let me say, it pays to be married. I was pleasantly surprised. Planning on paying some debt off. Also, hubby and I have been wanting a LCD tv. Prolly gonna get a 37. The biggest reason I want it is to give us more space. But it will be nice to have a LCD! LoL Also, I have been wanting a wall nail polish rack for 90 polishes. And with shipping it brings the total to like 50.00. I have went and placed the order like 3 times. Every time, I cancel it because that’s a lot! Well, for a rack. But it will be worth it. So I am really excited! I have a lot of nail polishes. Right now they are shoved in a box and I have to dig for them.

Nail of the day
Just wanted to show you all my nails I did today. I painted them in China Glaze For Audrey. I just got this color from Sally's today after seeing a Youtube guru use it. I fell in love with the color. Then while I was at Sally's I saw these star thingie's. It was pretty simple to do. I used tweezers to pick up them. It was hard doing my left hand though cause I am right handed. I think with practice it will get easier. I hope!

A pretty sample bag!
Guess what came today? My pretty sample bag. If you don’t know with it, let me introduce you. I have fallen in love with the whole idea. There are two version’s and I’ve done both. The first is my pretty pink box. This is a box full of “goodies”. I think the price changes with each month as do the sample’s. (I say samples lightly, as I have received lots of full sizes. Though some are just samples) The second option is the sample bag. What’s cool about this is, you get to choose what you want. I’m not sure if the price changes with this. I paid 10.50 (shipping included for the bag I will be reviewing for you.)
I will start with the mark cosmetic’s sample. I got three different samples. A lipstick in dew drenched, a lip gloss in glow baby glow and two different shadows. (Apple and espresso) I tried the lip gloss. At first I thought it was going to be to dark, but when I put it on it was gorgeous! I will defiantly be placing an order for this with my avon/mark rep!
The next item I got in the sample bag is the Revlon glue on nails. A cute design from the Runway Collection called Studio. They are so cute. I haven’t tried this brand of press on nails. (I’ve had decent results with broadway nails)
A sample from Affordable Mineral Makeup in Pink to Blue. I’ve never heard of this brand but the name makes me excited to try this. I wonder if it changes color tones in different light.
Two full sizes from Everyday Minerals. Pic Nic a pale yellow tone. Very wearable. And Eco Friendly, a gray-greenish color. Very pretty. I can’t wait to try these out. I’ve had good experiences with other eye shadows from Everyday Minerals.
The last product I received is from Glamourdolleyes.com. I am so impressed simple by there packaging and the cards included with the sample. The sample is Galaxy. Its a very pretty black with blue sparkles in it. The downside to this product is, its very chunky. I have never seen a mineral shadow so chunky before. I will have to work with this one!
Overall, I am so happy I got this sample bag. I don’t know what it is about getting samples but it always excites me. Plus, it makes me sad a lot of company’s don’t offer you them anymore. I think it would boost the industry if they did. But that’s my two cents!

A taste of Spring
Today we had a taste of spring. When I checked the mail this morning I realised it was warm. I would say high 40′s. Not really warm, but so much warmer then it has been. Anyways, it made me want spring even more. I got the sandals out and even did some shopping in them! I am sure some people looked at me like I was out of my mind, but I was happy! However, I just learned this nice weather will be short lived. Tomorrow’s high is suppose to be 30′s! At least I enjoyed it while I could! I need to move south!
Most of you know I work retail. January and February is really slow for retail. I have been working like 12 hours a week. And though I am enjoying the time away from that place, I am not enjoying the paychecks! Thank God for tax time around the corner! With this time off, I end up going to my parents house. I am sure they are getting sick of me. LOL No really, I’m serious! But since my Mom works retail too, she is usually home too. Why not keep each other company? She has quickly, within the last couple years become one of my best friends. I pray for my parents more then I do myself. I just love them so much. My husband makes fun of me because I still call my Dad, “daddy”. But he doesn’t understand, I am his little girl. I will always be his little girl. I think way too highly of him. I know he isn’t perfect, but he is pretty gosh darn close! My Mom, I use to think she was the type of women I didn’t want to become. Meaning, a wife and a mother. But the older I get, the more I see here as the EXACT women I want to become.
Did I mention the book I am reading? Kathy Griffin. She is so funny! I can’t believe what she had to endure to get where she is. I have always been a fan of her. She defiantly deserves better then the “d” list! This is really the first auto-biography I have read. I usually like reading non-fiction. (I think…the story’s made up. I think that is non-fiction. Correct me if I am wrong.) I am almost done with her book and would love to know what you are reading. I am open to suggestions!
Just wanted to keep you in the loop of my boring life! LOL

January SUCKS!
Can you tell I have a hard time coming up with blog title’s? For some reason, I always struggle with this. You would think it was brain surgery!
Anyways, the reason I choose “January SUCKS” is because it does. I just think the month of January is so depressing! I am so sick of the windows being closed and no sunshine. I just want to hibernate. I wake up and literally just have no motivation to get up. I am sick of layering clothes..and still being cold! I want to enjoy the sun again. I miss the warmth of the sun on my skin. I have thought about going to the tanning place, but I am so scared of getting skin cancer. So I don’t. I wonder if I wear sunscreen, if it will be okay. I mean, I am not there to tan. For one, I don’t tan! All my life, I have always burned! ALWAYS! But I really think this would work. It might just trick my mind! I don’t know. Maybe not.
OH! Guess what? So the other day, I went in to pay my car payment. I found out that May 2011 will be my last payment! That means, little over a year and that car is PAID OFF! We have been paying on this car for, it seems like 10 years. In reality, it has only been 4. I can’t express the pressure this will take off the hubby and I. That’s $200.00 more that we can put toward paying of debt a month! Although, by then we hope to have most of it paid off! (Fingers are crossed!)
Well, that’s it for now. Nothing too excited has really happened lately. I will have a couple reviews here soon. One is from My pretty pink sample bag. The other one, I am still waiting to hear back from. So, actually maybe just one review.

Happy New Year!
Okay so I am late! I always say, better late then never, huh? For New Years, we really didn’t do much. I had to work til 10pm. Plus, I am not a huge fan of being out on New Years. I already know there are a bunch of idiots out, I don’t need to tempt my luck with them involving alcohol on their part! So I came home and we had a few friends over. We had a couple drinks and played a board game. We had a great time. It was the first year I didn’t celebrate New Years with my parents. I was kinda bummed..
I have been on this mission to find a nail polish rack..and I am failing BAD! I have 37 nail polish and the collection is growing! I looked on eBay, but I don’t want to pay 20.00 in shipping! I just think that is crazy. So I am going to see if I can find something in the stores around me before I suck it up and buy it from eBay. So if anyone knows where I can pick one up, PLEASE let me know! (nail polish rack that hangs on the wall) My Mom suggested a Spice rack that hangs on the wall. Only problem with that, all the racks I am finding are the “lazy Susan” style racks! GRRRRR! If its not one problem its another!
Last Monday I was feeling so blah. I think it had to do with the weather. I am so tired of the windows being closed and just overall cold outside. So I did a very summery pink look. I posted pictures over on Mayjk, and the ladies seemed to really like it. So I figured I would also post it over here. I think this is one of my best looks. I have been practicing on the blending..think it is paying off! YAY!

Work is slowing way down. Which is a good thing and a bad thing in itself. I like the time off to spend with Matt and other family members. I also have got to read more! (Right now I am reading Kathy Griffin’s book! She is so funny! I am loving every chapter!) But when the paycheck comes..not so good! I guess you win some and lose some! I guess all you can do is make the most of it! With all this time off I am hoping to update more often on this blog! I really wanna make a habit of updating at least once a week. That should be fairly easy, right?
OH! Guess what? I found out earlier this week one of my friends is pregnant! I am so happy for her and her husband! She thought she was unable to get pregnant! I am sure she was totally surprised! Its a good thing though. I really think she will be a GREAT Mom! I can’t wait to go shopping for him/her! I will keep you all posted!

Happy Turkey Day!
Thanksgiving is upon us! Its this Thursday. I can't believe how much time has flew by. Seriously! Its like November just started last week. And now we are carving turkey? Whoa! Where does time go? Speaking of time, some of my fondest memory's about thanksgiving come to mind. I remember every year waking up and my Mom starting it way early in the morninging. I remember my Dad always giving me a hard time about eating the turkey. Saying this turkey died for "us" to eat. I remember most Thanksgiving's my parents invited my Aunt and Uncle over. It was a crowded house! I miss those days. Now our family is way to big to do that. We would need a HUGE hall. Not to mention at least 3 turkeys!
This year I am actually off Thanksgiving. Which surprised me because I work retail! But then again I work that Friday at 5am. Whoa! I am nervous about that. Black Friday! However, I am kinda excited bout it. I've never worked when the doors open on black Friday. I just hope its a safe morning. People are crazy! So since both Matt and I are off thanksgiving I am cooking. His Dad and his brother are comming over that afternoon. Then my parents invited us over for their thanksgiving. So we are going there around 3:30. Lastly, Neil and Jen invited us over for their dinner. We are gonna be full that day. I told Matt we need to pace our selfs. That's a lot of food!
I don't know what my brothers are all doing. I assume they are just spending it with their family's. I plan on calling them to wish them Happy Turkey Day!
Oh! A update on the Bare Escentuals collection. Seriously, that lip gloss is awesome. It is so pretty. I have worn it almost every day! You guys know how big my obsession is with makeup/beauty? I follow 20+ different beauty related blogs. I love looking at all the pretty shades and how different women use them.
Well, for some reason I woke up super early this morning and only after sleeping for 4 hours. I had a nap with the hubby this afternoon but it was more like a cat nap. So I'm going to go get ready for bed.
